Dr. Joel Silva

Dr. Joel graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Lisbon (Portugal) in 2003. After 5 years in general practice, he moved to Italy to pursue specialisation in cardiology. He completed a three-year residency in cardiology at the Clinica Veterinaria Gran Sasso in Milan (Italy) in collaboration with the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital at the Cambridge University (United Kingdom).

Dr. Joel became a ECVIM-CA Cardiology Diplomate in 2014 and was recognised as RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology in 2016. For the last 10 years worked as a clinical cardiologist in private practice at the North Downs Specialist Referrals, near London (UK) and, since 2019, integrated the veterinary cardiology team at the Cambridge University (UK) where he participated in clinical research and fulfilled clinical and teaching duties. 

Dr. Joel enjoys all aspects of clinical cardiology with a special interest in cardiovascular imaging and interventional techniques.
