Dr. Fernando obtained his veterinary degree in Madrid, Spain, in 2013. After two internships in Spain and New Zealand, Dr. Fernando moved to Perth (Australia) in 2019, where he completed further training in anaesthesia and analgesia, as well as two masters, including a thesis in advanced monitoring of ventilation. In 2023, Dr. Fernando was awarded the title of Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia (ECVAA) becoming an EBVS® European Specialist in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.
Dr. Fernando’s passions are teaching and promoting high standards in veterinary anaesthesia within the community. He has lectured and presented at both local and international conferences and published in multiple international scientific journals.
Dr. Fernando enjoys all aspects of veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia, with special attention to perioperative and chronic pain management and its ethical implications in animal welfare, striving to provide the best care possible. In his spare time, Dr. Fernando loves anything to do with the outdoors and water activities and is an internationally recognised Group Fitness Instructor.
